Accessories to Help You Stay Warm this Winter

Stay Warm this Winter

Winter may be the most challenging season to ride in. You’ll need to prepare for the weather when heading out. But with the right equipment, you can keep riding comfortably all winter long. And we highly recommend doing just that. Winter has its own kind of beauty that is just waiting for you to explore. Here are a few accessories that will help you both stay warm and be prepared for your winter adventures.

Good Base Layers –

Dressing warmly is obviously a must. But this is one of the most common mistakes we see in cold weather. Get a good solid base layer and build up from there. There are tons of options to choose from, and they don’t have to be expensive.

Keep your Hands and Feet Warm –

Keeping your hands and feet warm in the cold is one of the bigger challenges you’ll face. There are a lot of products out there that can help. Find a good warm pair of gloves and boots. Hand warmer packets can be a good option. Steering wheel warmers just make life all the better.

Windshield –

Having a good windshield will make a big difference when you’re trying to stay warm. Windshields help keep the wind, snow, and rain out of your cab. Naturally you’ll stay a lot warmer if you can block some of the elements. And we know where you can find the perfect windshield. Check out our selection at ClearlyTough.com.

Cab Heater –

This one is great if you plan on riding out in really cold weather for long amounts of time. These work much in the same way a heater in your car or truck does, and you can pick one up for a reasonable price.

Lights –

The sun sets a lot earlier in the day during the winter season. Make sure you have adequate lighting on your machine if you are going to be out after dark. If your headlights don’t seem to quite cut it, consider getting a light bar.

Plow –

A plow is a great winter accessory. It is useful and can be a lot of fun. Plow your way through sidewalks, driveways, and more. It’s so much more exciting than using a snow shovel.

Winch –

Having a winch is beneficial in any season. A winch can lift your plow and help clear debris. Better yet, it can help pull you out if you get stuck in the snow or mud. The applications for this accessory are endless.

Tires with Good Tread or Chains –

You don’t necessarily need snow specific tires, but you’ll want something with good, solid treads. You can also get chains for your tires that will provide you with a ton of traction. Remember not to use these on the asphalt though. They work best in extreme conditions.

Winter can be a wonderful time to get out and explore. These are just a few of the many accessories that can make your winter riding experiences fabulous. Get out there and enjoy.
