Campgrounds with UTV Trail Access

Looking for some great camping destinations this summer? We’ve put together a list of great places to stay. What makes these campgrounds even better is that they all have direct trail access. You can head out for a ride without trailering to get to the trailhead. Check out these awesome campgrounds below.

Salome KOA – Salome, AZ

The Salome KOA is located right in the middle of the Arizona Peace Trail. You’ll enjoy direct access to hundreds of miles of trail that wind through scenic desert hills and washes. Check out the trails around Salome, or head to the west to hit Bouse or Quartzsite. You could also use Salome as a staging area to run the entire trail, but that would be a weeklong trip. The trail in its entirety is around 700 miles and can be slow going in places. The Salome campground has both pull through and back in sites, 50 amp power service, and laundry and shower facilities. South Forty RV Park – Marysvale, UT

South Forty RV park is located on the Paiute Trail System in central Utah. The main loop of the Paiute ATV Trail is about 245 miles long, with an additional 1,000 miles of marked side trails to explore. It runs through scenic mountain forests with beautiful vistas and lots of wildlife. South Forty RV Park is located at the north end of Marysvale which is right in the middle of the trail system. You can ride in any direction and see new terrain each time you head out. The park has 2 Cabins and 75 pull-through sites that are over 61′ long and 34′ wide. Oregon Dunes KOA – Coos Bay, OR

Oregon Dunes KOA is a full-service campground with access to the southern end of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. It’s near the Hauser Day Use Area in Coos Bay. This area offers a wide variety of riding opportunities ranging from sand roads to dunes and forests. Year-round beach access is an added bonus. You can ride straight from the campground to the dunes via an access road. This campground has pull through and back in sites as well as tent sites and cabins. 50 amp power service, wi-fi and cable TV are included. You’ll also find mini dunes and a jump pad for the kids. Stinking Creek Campground – Pioneer, TN

Stinking Creek Campground is located in a scenic valley along the border of the North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area. This campground provides trail access to the Royal Blue/Sunquist OHV Trail systems. This is a big trail system with hundreds of miles of trails. It runs through beautiful forest settings including streams, waterfalls and rock formations. You could easily spend several days here. The campground has both pull through and back in sites, as well as cabins available for rent. Each site has electricity, water and sewer. Hidden Falls Adventure Park – Marble Falls, TX

Hidden Falls Adventure Park is 2,100 acres and over 200 trails of fun. Routes are designated for 4x4s, UTVs, ATVs and motorcycles. They range from beginner to expert in difficulty. The scenery is beautiful with waterfalls, stream crossings and hill climbs. In addition to some amazing riding, they have a 100 yard rifle range with 26 covered lanes, and a separate 25 yard pistol range. You may also enjoy horseback riding, hiking and hunting. The camping area offers bunkhouses, RV sites, and primitive tent sites. It’s clean with lots of trees. RV sites have 30 or 50 amp electrical hookups and sewer. Twin Hollow Campground – Gilbert, WV

Twin Hollow Campground gives you direct trail access to the Rock House, Devil Anse and Buffalo Mountain trails in the Hatfield-McCoy System. This gives you over 300 miles of trail to explore in beautiful forest terrain. You are also within a short trailering distance of the Bearwallow, Pinnacle Creek and Warrior trail systems. In addition to great riding, you’ll have access to fishing ponds and private hiking trails. The camping area offers cabins, RV pull through and back in sites, and tent camping. Sites with hookups have either 30 amp or 50 amp electricity and sewer. As an added perk, the award-winning restaurant Trail 12 BBQ is located onsite. Jericho Mountain State Park – Berlin, NH

Jericho Mountain State Park offers access to miles of interconnected ATV/UTV trails in the Ride the Wilds network. Many consider these trails to be the very best riding in the northeast. The park is known as host to the annual Jericho ATV festival in August. It also has a beautiful lake for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. The campground has 20 sites available. These include 9 RV sites, 4 tent sites, 5 cabins and 2 adirondack lean-to sites. Facilities include flush toilets and coin-operated showers. No hookup sites are available. Idaho Dunes RV Park – St. Anthony, ID

Idaho Dunes RV Park is located on the south edge of the St. Anthony Sand Dunes. The park is in a good central location for accessing both the smaller dunes to the east and the big dunes to the west. The western portion of the dunes, including the big dunes like Choke Cherry, Devil’s Dunes, and Dead Horse Bowl, are closed in the winter. The RV park is also open seasonally from April to October. They offer pull through RV sites, including full and partial hookup sites with 30 to 50 amp power service. They also have showers, bathrooms and ATV/UTV rentals available. St. Joes State Park – Park Hills, MO

St. Joes State Park provides over 50 miles of trails through wooded areas, hill climbs and play areas. Around 800 acres of the riding area are referred to as the sand flats. This area consists of a sand-like substance of crushed limestone that was left from the mining that used to occur in the park. The rest of the riding area consists of trails through the surrounding wooded hillsides. In addition to riding the trails the park has, four lakes, two swim beaches, equestrian trails, hiking and biking trails and picnic areas. There are two campgrounds in the park. One is geared towards OHV riding, the other to equestrian riders. The OHV campground includes full hookup and basic sites. Both 30 amp and 50 amp sites are available.
